How we can help you with your insect issue
If you have found insect pests within your home and are wondering what species they are, what likely caused them, and how to get rid them, our insect control team is ready to assist you. We can identify your insect (arthropod), assess the infestation, confirm the cost of control, and treat for the pests.
Safe insect control services (Glasgow and Ayrshire)
In line of our insect pest control work, we only use the methods that are safe for our customers, their family members, pets, non-target animals, general public, and for the pest controller applying treatments etc. All insecticidal products applied in our pest control treatments are dispensed by trained and experienced pest control technicians in accordance with the instructions on the insecticide label; regulated and in compliance with the Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 and Biocidal Product Regulations 2013. Special care is taken to prevent injury or damage to property from our pest control operations by doing and following risk assessments, wearing personal protective equipment and paying attention at all times. The business has an insurance cover in place to protect against liability arising out of our activities in the unlikely event of an accident. We do our best to exterminate your insects efficiently and safely while being unobtrusive and causing the least necessary disruption to your household.
Insect identification
If you have insects at home but you do not know what they are and what could have caused them, a good starting point in getting rid of them is to have the species identified. Not every insect found at home is necessarily a pest that would create an infestation; casual visitors like ground beetles or lady bugs come to mind. You are invited to look through the common insect pests listed on this page and compare their appearance, size and usual habitats to identify yours or you can take the advantage of our online pest identification page. We are happy to help you identify your insect pests over the phone, by email, on WhatsApp, or by text. We encourage you to photograph the insect and forward it to us along with its description, size, and the location where it was found. Our remote insect identification service is free. It is also a good idea to keep samples of the insects to show them to our attending pest control technician later.
Insect survey
Survey precedes all our insecticidal treatments and it is an integral part of our work. Nevertheless, you can save money by identifying your pests online or remotely with our help and then read on our website how to prepare your house before the treatment and/or to ask us by the means of email, phone, text, or WhatsApp. The survey is free where it can be done on the same visit as the insect control treatment. Otherwise, an (optional) insect survey that is completed on a separate visit costs £50 of which £20 can be refunded to the customer off the insect control treatment that follows on the survey at a later time (within 1 month). We recommend physical surveying before bed bug and cockroach control, and also for some stored-product insect pests.
Insect monitoring
We monitor with insect traps for the purposes to help detect the insects (or other arthropods) that are present and to help detect and identify the insects might be present. (Optional) insect monitoring can be done before, between, and after our insecticidal treatments. The costs of insect monitoring may vary by the pest species involved and specific situations when applied but usually it is around £50 (2 visits).
Insect control treatments
In our insecticidal treatments, we only use the insecticides that have been tested and approved by the Heath and Safety Executive (HSE) Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD). We look at efficiency, safety, and costs when selecting the products we use. The products include but are not limited to synthetically-made and naturally-derived insecticides, desiccants and insect growth regulators, in liquid, dust, gel, and fog formulations.
