Wasps Removal

Wasps yet to turn bolder in the autumn

It is likely that if you have been troubled by wasps in and around your home during summer months it is going to become even more menace in the autumn unless you have had the wasps removed eventually.

What's happening with the wasps

A wasp queen has now produced eggs that turn into fertile wasp females (new wasps queens) and males (drones). These can be well over a hundred per one nest if reproduction process is successful. Once mated, all the wasps including new queens, drones and infertile wasps workers start enjoying themselves feeding on overripe fruits and sweet substances. During the autumn wasps get noticeably bolder and the likelihood of being stung gets considerably higher than it was in the spring and during summer. When an active wasp nest is somewhere on the house wasps frequently appear inside rooms, especially on the top floor or in an attic conversion. These wasps can then be seen flying about windows as they try to get back out. Having entrapped themselves in, these wasps end up dead on the window sills and on nearby floor after a couple of days for starvation and dehydration; however, replaced with fresh wasps that keep coming in until the weather changes significantly around November. With outdoor temperatures plummeting down wasp workers and drones die off for the winter while wasp queens leave the nest and retreat to hibernation. Many of the aspiring wasp queens start new wasp colonies in close proximity of the old nest in the next spring.
